On Earth Day, April 22, 2022, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts committed to net-zero green house gas emissions by 2050. Revised targets for 2030 will be announced by July 1, 2022.
Do you have questions about Newburyport's path to decarbonization and meeting these goals? How do these goals impact you?
Storm Surge will host a live presentation on Wednesday, June 22, 7pm, at the Newburyport Senior/Community Center. All are invited to attend.
Molly Ettenborough, Newburyport Recycling and Energy Manager, and Mike Strauss, Chair of the Newburyport Energy Advisory Committee, will speak about green house gas emissions in Newburyport, residential electric supply aggregation, city ordinances enacted last year, and future changes.
If you have questions about the future electrification of Newburyport homes and cars, please come and join the discussion.
The first 24 in-person attendees at this event will receive a free book by local author, Dyke Hendrickson, titled "Merrimack: The Resilient River." These books have been generously donated by Amesbury business owner, Dan Healey.
Attend in person or virtually via Greater Newburyport Community Media Hub (NCM Hub).
Please preregister for this free and informative event.
NCM Hub will broadcast the event on Channel 9. Replay will be available on Channel 8.
