Initiated in 2019:
2019 Community Home Energy Efficiency Initiative
The City has been tackling building energy efficiency since 2010, when we became a Green Community.
This initiative advances resident awareness and education of home energy efficiency to help you determine what measures are right for your living space. The purpose is to scale up our community’s energy efficiency efforts. It is a call to action for residents to join the City in its efforts to curb emissions of planet warming gases, reduce electricity and fuel bills, and increase the comfort in all Newburyport’s buildings.
In particular, this initiative advocates signing-up for a no-cost Home Energy Assessment, which is funded by an energy efficiency charge on your monthly National Grid bill. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn where your home is losing energy. You will learn a lot about your house, condo, or apartment’s contribution to polluting emissions and what steps you can take to do something about it.
The No-Cost Home Energy Assessment
Offered by National Grid
is available through Mass Save at 1-855-891-9899
Most importantly, residents are offered no-cost measures to implement immediately during the assessment. You’ll also find out about rebates and financial incentives available for additional measures to take in the near term and for longer term planning. Join with the City of Newburyport to learn what you can do.
Find out more about a no-cost Home Energy Assessment by reading the FAQs joining a public information meeting posted here, or visiting ngrid.com/ma-community.
