The Newburyport Council on Aging provides a handbook of information about senior housing facilities available in Newburyport. The handbook lists the facility addresses, contact information, and residency requirements. A designated COA staff member may assist with completion of applications. 

 

Newburyport Housing Authority Properties

Sullivan Building:  25 Temple Street
This eight-story brick high rise consists of 100 units (4 accessible) occupied by elderly and disabled households. The building is conveniently located in downtown Newburyport for residents to enjoy local shopping and strolling along the boardwalk situated on the Merrimack River. The eighth floor houses a spacious community room and deck for residents to enjoy the best view in town. 

Horton Terrace:  North Atkinson Street/Golden Drive/Simmons Drive
Horton Terrace is located in Newburyport’s north end with 50 apartments (2 barrier-free) occupied by elderly/disabled households. The garden-style apartments are situated on a beautifully landscaped surrounding and are just ¼ mile from Newburyport’s two main shopping centers. Residents can enjoy planting flowers and the many social events scheduled by the Horton Terrace Tenant Council.
