Ride around Newburyport on the Wheelchair Accessible COA Bus

One of the most important services that the Newburyport Council on Aging provides is transportation.  Even during the pandemic, the Newburyport COA is available to transport disabled adults of any age and older adults safely to destinations-financial institutions (banks), grocery stores, and hair stylists/barbers-around Newburyport.  Medical appointments are prioritized.

The bus operates Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Call the COA to verify availability & schedule a ride at least 24 hours in advance:  (978) 462-0430

During the public health emergency, several measures are being taken to ensure the safety of our passengers and drivers.  All riders must wear a face covering that properly covers the mouth and nose. A protective plexiglass shield has been installed on the bus and the driver will disinfect between passengers.  Whenever possible, windows will be open.  Only two passengers are allowed to occupy the bus at the same time.

While the service is complimentary, a $1 donation to offset expenses is appreciated.

To increase your chances of securing a ride, please call in requests at least 48-hours in advance. Because only one bus is currently on the road, last-minute requests can rarely be accommodated.
