About Us:

The Friends of the Newburyport Council on Aging is a charitable 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to providing financial support to the needs of the Council on Aging.  The Friends generate funds from individual and corporate memberships and donations.  Additionally, various fundraising activities are held to further support and expand the Council on Aging programs and services.  Enhancing visibility of the Friends and the Council on Aging within the community continues to be an important objective.  Public awareness of the value of the Council on Aging will provide an opportunity for raising the fund to continue offering much needed programs.

We Turned 25 in 2021!

In 2021, the Friends of the Newburyport Council on Aging celebrated their 25th Anniversary having been “born” on April 24, 1996. 

On April 28th, the Friends of the Newburyport Council on Aging celebrated their 25th Anniversary on a special Zoom gathering that brought together virtually FONCOA Board Members and Newburyport Mayors!

The 25 Years in Review event reunited current and former members, city officials and individuals who had been instrumental in their successes and who participated in key events through their history of fundraising and advocacy for area seniors to speak, especially about the role they played in making the Senior/Community Center a reality.
