The purpose of the Newburyport Rental Assistance Program is to provide short-term relief to low and moderate income individuals and families who are having difficulty paying their rent due to a temporary barrier. The City of Newburyport, through its Affordable Housing Trust, will be providing grants to financially assist qualified households with current rent payments or acquiring a new rental during a time of need. The City of Newburyport has partnered with the Pettengill House, Inc. to administer the Newburyport Rental Assistance Program.

To be eligible to receive a grant, the applicant must occupy a property in Newburyport and have a household income that is no greater than 80% of the area median income (AMI).  For more info. and a full list of eligibility requirements, please visit: www.pettengillhouse.org/newburyport_rent_assistance.aspx.
