Public Works & Safety Committee Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the Newburyport City Council will meet in committee at 6:00 pm on August 13, 2026 (via its designated Public Works and Safety committee) for purposes of reviewing a proposed Order declaring that an unfinished segment of Coffin Street – as depicted on the attached Exhibit A Plan – is understood to be a private way, rather than public and discontinuing any “public way” that may otherwise be implied to exist therein. The purpose of this public meeting is to hear testimony from any and all parties interested in the merits of said Order, including the owners of properties abutting said Coffin Street right-of-way. Said meeting will be located in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 60 Pleasant Street, Newburyport, MA 01950 with “remote” online/web access via Zoom (a.k.a. a “hybrid” public meeting). All interested parties should look to the City Website meetings calendar (www.cityofnewburyport.com/calendar) as the meeting date approaches for confirmation of location and access details.
