2024 Waterways Permit Application
A few reminders:
- Any new boats or boat changes must be done via mail or in person. A copy of your current state registration or federal documentation is required.
- All motorized vessels, including tenders and inflatables are required to obtain and display a marine waterways permit.
- All registered vessels will be subject to a City of Newburyport excise tax. All excise tax bills must be current before permits will be issued.
Ways to Renew/Register:
- By Mail
- Please send the following:
- A stamped, self-addressed envelope
- Check (no cash) made out to: City of Newburyport
- The attached application
- This can all be mailed to Newburyport Harbormaster, 60 Pleasant St., Newburyport, MA 01950
- Please send the following:
- In Person
- Please bring the following:
- The attached application
- Payment (cash, credit card, or check)
- This can be brought to the Harbormaster Office located at 27 Rear Water St, Newburyport, MA 01950 (located behind The Custom House Museum)
- Please call or visit our office hours page before visiting.
- Please bring the following:
- Online (Renewals Only)
- Click here to renew online. Please have your Boat ID number from your renewal form on hand.
