General Government
The Committee on General Government shall be concerned with supervision of city properties whose custody has not been assigned to a specific municipal department, as well as the proper use of school properties. The committee has oversight over the following municipal departments: city clerk; city solicitor; registrars of voters, information technology; and human resources. The committee shall have charge of and supervision over the City Council chambers. The committee will be concerned with the keeping of the rules of the city council. The committee shall act as the liaison between the school committee and the city council on matters related to education. The committee (which includes the mayor as an ex officio member) will provide progress updates on bonded capital projects.
