The Licensing Board approves all retail alcohol, common victualler, entertainment, one day alcohol, lodging and B&B, and transient vendor licenses.
The Board meets once per month, usually on the first Wednesday of the month at 7pm. The meetings are held at the Police Station Conference Room, 4 Green Street, Newburyport. Please check the calendar to confirm updated dates and locations of meetings.
Applications for all licenses must be submitted two weeks prior to the scheduled meeting. Applications for retail on-premises (restaurant) and off-premises (package store) licenses are on the MA Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission website here. Some applications require a public hearing and notice to the abutters at least 10 days prior to the hearing. Please contact the Administrative Assistant to schedule the hearing.
