Division Overview
The City of Newburyport Department of Public Services Highway Division is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the city’s infrastructure.
- Public roadways
- Public sidewalks
- Public drain systems (pipes, catchbasins, manholes, ditches and outfalls)
- Highland Cemetery to include burials and maintainence
- City Department wide fleet maintenance program
- Maintain city parks, parking lots, and public green areas
- Provide de-icing and snow removal during storms
- Provide daily city-wide trash removal for all public areas
- Provide 24-hour 365-day on-call crew for emergency response
