Volunteers Sought to Serve on City Boards and Commissions

Mayor Donna Holaday is accepting letters of interest and resumes from residents interested in serving on Newburyport’s boards and commissions. The following have openings for those interested in volunteering their time. Please read the links below for more information.

Commission on Disabilities; a commission who works to advocate on disability-related issues, make recommendations and provide technical knowledge where needed, to City departments, businesses and organizations throughout the community. https://www.cityofnewburyport.com/commission-on-disabilities

 

Council on Aging; whose mission to match the needs of elders with the resources in the community: https://www.cityofnewburyport.com/council-on-aging

 

Conservation Commission; an official agency charged with the protection of the City’s natural resources: https://www.cityofnewburyport.com/conservation-commission

 

Open Space Committee; an advisory committee charged with advocating for the protection of open space and specifically to monitor opportunities for open space acquisition: https://www.cityofnewburyport.com/open-space-committee

 

Water/Sewer Commission; Water is part of the Department of Public Services and consists of three divisions: Water Operations, Construction, and Administrative. Sewer provides the rate payers of Newburyport with cost effective wastewater collection, pumping, and treatment services, while simultaneously improving and maintaining the City's infrastructure. https://www.cityofnewburyport.com/department-of-public-services
