Newburyport Residents Affected By Weekend Storm Asked to Contact City

This weekend’s storm brought record breaking tides and extensive damage to the City. The effects of the storm could be felt from Plum Island to the Chain Bridge. The City is working closely with MEMA. If you sustained any damage due to this past weekend’s storm please send an email to mayor@cityofnewburyport.com. Make sure to include your contact information and a brief description of the damage caused by the storm. My office and Fire Chief Bradbury have been in contact with MEMA, and the list we compile will allow them to reach out to residents directly for possible state assistance. These record high tides took everyone by surprise. I am always looking for ways to better communicate with residents and will be meeting with our emergency management team this week to install even more effective communication tools to get information out to residents in a timely manner during emergencies such as this.
