Gillis Bridge Reopens to Marine Traffic

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has informed the City that the Gillis Drawbridge has reopened to marine traffic as of August 31, 2023 at 3:30pm. The bridge had been closed to boat traffic since August 26th due to a motor issue. We are happy to announce the bridge is now in service and hope boaters get to enjoy a beautiful weekend here in Newburyport.
