INVITATION FOR BIDS
City of Newburyport
invites qualified Vendors to submit sealed bids for the Water System Maintenance “Valve Turning Program”, Newburyport MA 01950. Vendors may obtain a complete set of bid documents, including Bid Forms, through an Electronic Bidding process hosted by www.projectdog.com, on Thursday, July 8 after 10:00AM using Project Code #844233 until the deadline, at which time the bids will be publicly released online for review by all.

The Scope of Work includes a maintenance contract performed in two phases with the contractor furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and insurance to fulfill the Agreement in approximately four months. Phase 1 requires the vendor to perform work required for the maintenance of approximately 900 Gate valves throughout the City of Newburyport’s water distribution system. Phase 2 is for the repair and replacement of rounded or deficient valve operating nuts without excavation. The number of valves to be repaired will be determined after phase one of this project is complete.
All bids for this project are subject to the applicable bidding laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, including, but not limited to, General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M, as amended; Prevailing Wages; OSHA Certification; a bid deposit in the amount of 5% of the quote of the total bid and a 50% Payment bond, if awarded.
Each Bid must be accompanied by a bid security consisting of a Bid Bond, or, Certified Check issued by a responsible bank or trust company in the amount of 5% of the total bid price.
The estimated value of this contract is $100,000. There are no filed sub-bids for this project.
The City of Newburyport reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
