Muni Electric Contract

Electric supply out to bid

Pricing from Constellation, Enel, NRG, IGS

Best pricing from Constellation and IGS

  1. Each $0.01/kwh difference in energy price corresponds to approximately $80,000/year: cost or savings depending on your viewpoint.
  2. Both Constellation and IGS have been around for a while.
  3. Constellation has been in the NE, and MA market for a long time.  IGS is trying to break in.
  4. Constellation is more of a known quantity, we have worked with them for years successfully.
  5. Constellation uses an MMA approved contract.  IGS is close but perhaps not exactly the same.
  6. The EAC feels more comfortable with the Constellation contract in the event of future instabilities in the energy market.

Garbage and Recycling out to bid

Going to automated collection meaning 1 person operation on truck.  This means residents will get new barrels.

Opt-in Stretch code

Even though election, we need to get our arguments and presentations in order.  Get Building sub-com involved. .

Membership

We need at least one replacement for Mary and there may be others needed

Muni Gas

Claire is getting info on contracting Muni natural gas supply.  There are brokers who will put it out to bid.  May need to get more detailed gas use, that is access to city bills.  Also, there is a rumor (need to confirm) that the utility (NGrid) can adjust the rate for gas monthly.  That would change the risk/reward for doing this. We should try to get other cities experience with doing this.
