11Million Acres Talk | Solar opportunities on many muni roofs. Some opportunities we hadn’t thought of. Might be better to group them. Solar is now !$2-$2.30/watt installed on roofs. About 50% more for canopies on lots. There is a lookback for tax credit, so may want to check any projects dones. Bill C.brought up does signing a PPA cause a liability for the city. Never came up before when we signed PPA with Ameresco or net metering deals. Check with Ethan. |
Vice Chair position. Don has volunteered | Voted in by acclamation. Duties include filling in for the chair when needed and being the point person on upgrading muni buildings to net0 |
Buildings SubCom | Linda Guthrie will be chair starting in Jan. Needto lookinto walkable streets for schools. Cars are idling on side streets to pick up kids. Seems like more cars than before pandemic. Can we get more kids to walk or bike to school. NGrid info on no cost electric retrofit for low to moderate income. Should we put a separate Action item on Energize Newburyport: Free electric retrofit for qualifying incomes? |
Transportation SubCom | IRA for busses. We have more time on our current contract, but a new contract can have electric requirement. |
Communications and outreach SubCom | Should we put a link to ZeroHomes up? |
City Update | Meeting with NGrid higher ups. Big message: they want to upgrade grid, but it will cost and that means T&D will increase |
