Do I need a permit for a fence?

You do not need a building permit for a fence under 7', however, zoning and wetlands regulations do apply. If you are on Plum Island, be sure to review the Plum Island Fencing Guidelines prior to installing a fence as it's likely you will need a permit through the Conservation Commission.
