Heath Granas is serving his first term as Newburyport City Councillor for Ward 3.
Heath was born and raised in northern New Jersey. Heath spent many years living and working in Washington, DC. Heath graduated from American University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in political science in 2002. Heath worked on Capitol Hill as a staff assistant for former United States Senator Robert Torricelli. Heath then went on to work as a legislative affairs assistant at the American Cancer Society in their national government relations department. Heath left politics to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a flight attendant. Heath is a flight attendant with United Airlines, based at Boston Logan airport. Heath is in his 19th year of flying.
Heath and his husband, Michael Stanaland moved to Newburyport in the Summer of 2021.
