City Dedicates Newly-Renovated World War Memorial Stadium and the James T. Stehlin Field

Built in the late 1930s as a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project, Newburyport's World War Memorial Stadium at Newburyport High School is one of the City's most prized landmarks.  The restoration and renovation of this historic structure is the culmination of more than a decade of planning and perseverance by so many within the community.  On November 25, 2015 at 6:00PM, the community re-dedicated our treasured World War Memorial Stadium and unveiled the new state-of-the-art turf field named in honor of James T. Stehlin, one of the longest serving and winningest coaches in NHS history.
