Parks Reorganization Plan

On January 30, 2023, the Mayor submitted a new Parks Reorganization Plan to the City Council for consideration. This was the product of months of work with the Parks Commission and involved stakeholders and includes new considerations of the Parks Commission's role, the non-profit Port Parks Alliance, and tie-ins with the City's Youth Services and Planning Departments. Under the City Charter, the plan was considered by the City Council and a public hearing was held on February 15th, 2023. At the February 27th meeting of the City Council, the plan was approved in a 10-1 vote.
