State of the City Address January 25th

On January 25th, 2023, Mayor Sean Reardon gave the State of the City Address, which will included updates on the City’s accomplishments throughout 2022, and its priorities for the year ahead. Council President Heather Shand and State Senator Bruce Tarr offered remarks, and City Clerk Richard Jones served as Master of Ceremonies. The event is available NCM Hub and YouTube.  

At the conclusion of the address, Mayor Reardon presented awards recognizing Newburyport community members for their public and community service. The Onward, Forward! Public Service Award honors a city employee, board or commission volunteer, or elected official who has gone above and beyond in their service to the city. In addition, three community service awards recognize individuals, businesses, and youth who have made significant positive contributions to Newburyport.
