Council on Aging Holding Tax Work-Off Program Information Session

Are you a senior or veteran interested in working with the City and reducing your property taxes? The City is looking for a number of positions, and is always interested in welcoming new faces to the Senior Property Tax Work-Off Program and the Veterans Property Tax Work-Off program! These programs place older Newburyport residents and veterans in jobs with city departments so that they have the opportunity to abate property taxes each year.  Tax Work-Off participants work in an array of positions requiring a variety of skills.  The program is administered by the Council on Aging in consultation with other departments.

The Council on Aging will host an information session on the program on Thursday, May 19th at 4pm at the Senior/Community Center, 331 High Street. Come by and learn what the program is all about. You can even complete your hiring packet on-site if you bring your 2021 tax return and either 1) a US Passport or 2) BOTH your driver's license and social security card.
