Business Inspections

The City of Newburyport Assessor’s Office will be conducting inspections of all businesses within the City as mandated by the Department of Revenue.

August 21, 2017

The City of Newburyport Assessor’s Office has contracted with the firm of KRT Appraisal Company out of Haverhill Massachusetts to conduct inspections of all businesses within the City of Newburyport as part of a cyclical mandate required by the Department of Revenue. The businesses that will be visited have not been inspected within the past nine years. The employee representative visiting the businesses is Renee Halloran. Renee will have identification and a letter from the Assessor’s Office. For all businesses in general this is also a reminder that each year a Form of List needs to be filled out and filed with our office by March 1st of each year disclosing personal property that is subject to taxation (General Laws Chapter 59 §29). If you have any questions regarding this ongoing process, please call our office at 978-465-4403.
