Commonwealth Public Hearing - 57 Low Street Conveyance

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) gives notice that a public hearing is required pursuant to Sections 34 and 37 of Chapter 7C of the Massachusetts General Laws, and that it will conduct a public hearing to (i) consider reuse restrictions prior to the conveyance of the Commonwealth property located in the City of Newburyport and to (ii) disclose the conditions and reasons for the proposed conveyance of the Commonwealth property, and significant change of use, of Commonwealth property.  The property has been declared surplus to the needs of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

 

The Commonwealth property consists of approximately 2.17 acres of land together with 5,720 square feet of building space and associated infrastructure located thereon, that has been determined to be surplus to the needs of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  The Commonwealth property is located at 57 Low St in the City of Newburyport.  The surplus property is under the care and control of the Massachusetts Military Division.  The Commonwealth property, which has been determined surplus to current foreseeable direct public uses, will be conveyed to the City of Newburyport restricted to general municipal purposes.

 

The public hearing shall be conducted on Wednesday, January 8 at 6:30 PM at Newburyport City Hall, located at 60 Pleasant Street, Newburyport, MA 01950.

 

Following the hearing the DCAMM Commissioner shall make a draft of any reuse restrictions, or the division not to impose reuse constructions, available to the public on the DCAMM web page and shall accept written comments thereon for a period of 21 days thereafter.  Send comments to realestate.dcamm@mass.gov or letter addressed to OREM, DCAMM, One Ashburton Place, 15th Floor, Boston, MA 02108.
