Food Protection Program
The Health Department plays many critical roles in ensuring that Newburyport's food establishments are operating at the highest of standards. Some examples of the role the Health Department plays are:
- Every food establishment, retail food store, residential kitchen, and caterer is required to obtain an annual permit from the Health Department.
- All permitted establishments undergo surprise inspections by a trained food inspector.
