Parker Street Sidewalk

The Engineering Division designed a 10-foot wide multi-use pedestrian bike path on Parker Street from the MBTA Commuter Rail Station to Rt. 1.  The layout was designed such that this section of Parker Street could be easily modified to be a two-lane road if and when Rt. 1 is reconstructed with an opening to the median to allow northbound travelers to take a left onto Parker.  Hopefully this modification will take place when the entire Traffic Circle is reconstructed and replaced with a more functional intersection.  Conceptual designs have been prepared and discussed with MassDOT over the years since 2016.  This effort to replace the intersection is ongoing.

This sidewalk was built using funds provided by a MassWorks Grant.
