Health and Beauty Blood Pressure Checks - Nurses are at the Council On Aging twice each month to provide confidential medical counseling, monitor blood pressure readings and provide presentations on a variety of medical issues.

Dental Clinic - Once each month a dental dental hygienist brings a portable clinic to the Senior/Community Center. She provides dental evaluations, cleanings and a written report. The cost is $30.

Exercise to Music - This is an on-going individualized fitness program for older adults. One hour classes are held at the Senior/Community Center at 9 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. The program is set to music, and includes stretching, hand weights, no-impact and low- impact aerobic movements, and cool-down. The program is suited to wheelchair users, post- mastectomy patients, arthritic elders, and others. A $3.00 donation per class is requested.

Massage Therapy is provided at the Senior/Community Center by Haley Games, Call her at 978-223-3430 for an appointment

Foot Care A podiatrist from New England Foot & Ankle visits the Senior/Community Center on the 1st Thursday of each month to clip toe nails. Call the Council on Aging office for an appointment: 978-462-0430.

Reiki sessions are free of charge and are offered from 9 a.m. until Noon on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month, Call 978-465-0245 for an appointment.

Health Insurance Counseling

S.H.I.N.E. (Service Health Insurance Needs of Elders) provides an insurance counselor once each week at the Council On Aging. The S.H.I.N.E. counselor can assist with applications for prescription drug programs, food stamps, Medicare and Mass Health. The counselor also provides information about the benefits of health insurance programs and HMOs and can help seniors with their Medicare paperwork.
