Animal Shelter

The shelter is located with the Department of Public Services Complex at 16A Perry Way, Newburyport, MA. An appointment must be made to visit the shelter to retrieve an animal.

The Animal Control Officer works with the Newburyport Council on Aging, Salvation Army, and other ACO's in the area to provide food and pet supplies to those in need when possible.

Can the shelter accept donations of goods or monetary donations?
Yes, we are always looking for large towels, cat food, dog food, cat litter, and any supplies that would aid in the operation of the shelter. Our shelter is dependent on private donations and the generosity of its volunteers.  There is a drop box at Market Bakset on Storey Ave. if you have donations you'd like to donate
